I came across an interesting example of what may be called “open science” just today: an “open source” project to investigate the feasibility of a proposed solution to carbon sequestration. The project is called Cquestrate.
I wonder if it is really about openness, of whether it is a better thought of as an example of crowdsourcing to maker a cheaper feasibility study.
