- The El Naschie debacle continues
- Discovered this using Google: it’s Thomson’s contribution to the El Naschie debacle. This appears to be the same El Naschie who is putting dozens of his own papers into an Elsevier journal he edits, “Chaos, Solitons, and Fractals”. Here he is being interview at Thomson as the author of a “New Hot Paper”. I can’t find the paper, but based on previous commentary by John Baez, I don’t think this looks very good.

- Global Voices Online » Denmark: “Deep Linking†Under Fire by Newspaper Publishers
- “the chief legal adviser from the Danish Union of Journalists, Anne Louise Schelin… advised, that one should never link to anything but a website’s homepage, even in an email to colleagues about a specific article. The only redeeming factor would be whether a link could be considered “loyal,†she said, referring to a Danish court case between two real estate websites from 2006.”

- How does radical collocation help a team succeed?
- “Companies are experimenting with putting teams into warrooms, hoping for some productivity enhancement. We conducted a field study of six such teams, tracking their activity, attitudes, use of technology and productivity. Teams in these warrooms showed a doubling of productivity. Why? Among other things, teams had easy access to each other for both coordination of their work and for learning, and the work artifacts they posted on the walls remained visible to all. These results imply that if we are to truly support remote teams, we should provide constant awareness and easy transitions in and out of spontaneous meetings.”
