While there, I&#8217;m giving a talk about scientific collaboration on the internet at the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.santafe.edu\">Santa Fe Institute<\/a> on Wednesday afternoon, and the after-dinner banquet speech (related topic, very different talk) at the <a href=\"http:\/\/info.phys.unm.edu\/qip2009\/\">Quantum Information Processing (QIP) 2009<\/a> conference.  QIP was one of my favourite annual events when I worked in quantum computing, and I&#8217;m really looking forward to the chance to catch up with old friends.<\/p>\n<p>On Friday through Sunday I&#8217;ll be at the third annual science blogging conference, otherwise known as <a href=\"http:\/\/scienceonline09.com\/\">Science Online 2009<\/a>, in Rayleigh-Durham, North Carolina.  People who went to the first two all say they had a great time, so I&#8217;m really looking forward to this!<\/p>\n<p>Finally, while advertising talks, I may as well add that I&#8217;ll be giving the University of Toronto <a href=\"http:\/\/www.physics.utoronto.ca\/lecture-and-seminar-series\/colloquium\/events\/physics-colloquium-jan-22-2009\">Physics Colloquium<\/a> Thursday, January 22, at 4pm, in the McLennan Building, room 102, at the main University of Toronto Campus. <\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>I&#8217;ll be in Santa Fe, New Mexico, on Wednesday and Thursday of this coming week.
